Ace Edwards, Dallas PI Series
Thank you for your patience. But finally it's here. The next in my Ace Edwards series is available with a beautiful cover and an adventure inside that threatens to defeat Ace's best efforts. Take a look at JASMINE'S FATE. And, as a special teaser, click on the cover below for the prologue and first chapter.

Ace Edwards, Dallas PI, meets his most difficult case. A man is dead, and Jasmine Loverly is the logical suspect. She says she didn't do it. Ace wants to believe her, but why? Because she's young, beautiful, and a redhead—or because she's innocent? On the other side are the movers and shakers of Dallas—the moneymen behind the politicians—people who know how to play the game without skinning their knuckles while inflicting pain on those they don't like. Ace's investigation takes him through East Texas and Van Zandt County, grounds he has covered before. But this time, he meets Vickie Loverly, Jasmine's widowed mother . . . As always, Ace's cats, Sweeper and Striker, may (or may not) know more than Ace.

Have you met Ace Edwards? The name is really Arthur Conan Edwards -- his father picked it. His mother wasn't all that thrilled, but agreed it was better than Sherlock Holmes Edwards. However, she made the mistake that haunts Ace even into today. She called him Arty in front of Jake Adams, his childhood friend in Cisco, Texas. Jake hasn't forgotten and will never let Ace forget. Too many chuckles in using it during 3 a.m. phone calls. Ace is a PI in Dallas, not one of those highly successful ones that get newspaper headlines and TV appearances, but a guy who takes cases where he can find them--usually involving a spouse who is finding it someplace other than the connubial bed. Occasionally, Jake comes to Ace's rescue by referring a high paying case. While Ace is a bachelor, actually a divorcé, he doesn't live alone. His two orange alley cats, Sweeper and Striker, keep him company, sometimes more than Ace wants. Most of the time it's difficult to determine who lives with whom. |

Ace's latest case is his strangest. Who could believe that he, a barely successful PI, would be selected to help Santa's Chief Elf for North Texas operations. |
|
Ace is not one who rushes to believe in elves, but accepts it after Sweeper, Striker, and Kit, his female PI buddy, have no problem believing the Elf. And, when Ace discovers it was Jake who sent the Elf, things seem even more bizarre. However, questions can wait. Christmas must be saved. Thieves emptied Santa's North Texas warehouse. Without those toys, children will be sad, and Ace cannot allow that. An investigation through the dark underbelly of Dallas leads Ace and the Elf to the thugs. Can they be brought to justice and Christmas be saved? Read and learn. A double click on the cover will open a sample of this adventure. |

Ace goes to Canton, Texas. A three a.m. phone call from Chip Jamieson, gentleman rancher, at the behest of Jake Adams, of course, puts Ace on the trail of kidnappers. |
|
Joseph has been kidnapped, and Chip wants him back. Jake says Ace Edwards is the PI who can do it. Joseph is recovered, but a brutally murdered body adds to his dilemma. He is suspected of committing the act. Ace and his cats, Sweeper and Striker, relocate to Chip's ranch (Chip's Training Camp) where they dodge danger at every turn -- surveillance, a skunking, locals who believe Joseph guilty, and a man-eating female lawyer bent on suing Chip into poverty. Ace meets Wanda, Chip's sister, who teaches him the history of Canton and Van Zandt County, and introduces him to the First Monday Trade Days extravaganza. She lends romance to his adventure while frustrating him with her hair-trigger temper. A double click on the cover will open a sample of this adventure. |

Two bodies in the ashes change the complexion of the case and the danger that Ace and his cats face. It becomes a race to the end -- either Ace brings the murderer down, or loses everything. As Ace walks the streets and relives memories of his home town, he discovers the answer to the question: Can you go home again? Love slips up on Ace when he meets Terri Hart, the woman of his dreams. But is Ace in love with Terri, or simply in love with love? And will he be given the opportunity to find out? A double click on the cover will open a sample of this adventure. |

Ace believes blackmailers to be lower than snail bellies, and a three a.m. phone call from Johnny Nichols gives him the opportunity to strike back. Yes, Jake Adams is behind the call. |
|
Johnny has been caught straying from the connubial bed and needs Ace's help in recovering pictures and videos of his wild drunken night with a woman who picked him up in a bar. Ace accepts the case and soon, he and his cats are immersed in the shady dealings of Jade and Hugo, the blackmailers. He meets Mrs. Loticia Adams Evans, Johnny's mother-in-law, the formidable matriarch of Grand Saline. She informs Ace she controls the purse strings and believes him unsuitable for rescuing her son-in-law from his follies. Even as Ace resolves the blackmail scheme, disaster strikes. Ace calls on his friend, "Kit" Carsen Levitt, a female PI from Dallas. A double click on the cover will open a sample of this adventure. |
