Randy's Books

It is December 15 and Santa's Chief Elf for Texas Operations is
beard-deep in trouble.  His warehouse has been emptied of
Christmas toys.  Can Arthur Conan Edwards (Ace), Dallas PI
save him from embarrassment?  Ace is not inclined to believe in
Christmas Elves, but his favorite cohort, "Kit" Carsen Levitt,
accepts the story.  Tom Roberts, Ace's friend and a computer
guru, lifts an eyebrow at any of Ace's cases but follows Kit's
lead.  Ably assisted (or perhaps not) by the Elf and Ace's two
cats, Sweeper and Striker, the three of them set out to unearth
    the thieves.
JINGLE'S CHRISTMAS
JINGLE'S CHRISTMAS
JINGLE'S CHRISTMAS

Arthur Conan Edwards (Ace), Dallas PI, is off on another
adventure in a small town -- Williamston, North Carolina.  Jeb
Highsmith, an old college friend, contacts him and reports a theft
of funds from his law firm.  Ace, accompanied by his cats,
Sweeper and Striker, and his favorite female PI, Kit Carsen
Levitt, flies east.  They soon find themselves embroiled in a
jurisdictional dispute between local authorities and the State
Bureau of Investigation.  Historical anecdotes of the area are
woven into the story as Ace and Kit investigate an
embezzlement leading to murder, money laundering, and buried
    secrets.
JASMINE'S FATE
Ace Edwards #5

A morning phone call launches Ace Edwards, Dallas PI, into his
most convoluted case.  Douglas Isendorf the Third is murdered.
Jasmine Loverly, Doug's live-in girlfriend (or is she his wife?) is
suspect number one.  A lack of physical evidence has the lead on
the case, Lieutenant Clint Ravel, in a bind while city hall hounds
him for an arrest.  Naturally, Clint calls his old friend Ace.  Ace is
without Kit Levitt, his favorite female PI, but still has his two cats,
his computer buddy, and his septuagenarian neighbor.  How can he
    miss with such assistance?
JADE'S PHOTOS
Ace Edwards #3

Arthur Conan Edwards (Ace) is on another adventure in a small
town in Texas.  His latest case takes him to Grand Saline in Van
Zandt County.  Johnny Nichols is being blackmailed because he
strayed from the connubial bed.  Ace and his cats, Sweeper and
Striker, are soon immersed in the shady dealings of Jade and
Hugo, the blackmailers.  Even as Ace resolves the blackmail
scheme, disaster strikes.  “Kit” Carsen Levitt, a female PI from
Dallas and Ace’s close friend, enters the case.  Ace and Kit face
problems not normally found in simple mysteries.  Is Clark’s
Ferry haunted?  How many murders are too many?  Are the cats’
strange antics clues to the case?  Ace and Kit find out.
JOSEPH'S KIDNAPPING
Ace Edwards #2

After the usual three a.m. phone call, Ace heads for Canton,
home of First Monday Trade Days and Chip’s Training Camp, the
ranch belonging to his client, Chip Jamison.  Strange twists leave
Ace wondering why he took the job, however Chip’s voluptuous
sister, Wanda, provides reason to stay.  Joseph is recovered but a
brutally murdered body points to him as the prime suspect.  Was
it Joseph’s kidnapper or has another black-heart entered the
case?  Surveillance, a skunking, locals who think Joseph guilty,
and a female man-hating lawyer plague Ace as he unravels the
mystery.  Ace’s cats, Sweeper and Striker, accompany him and
either help or hinder—Ace is never sure which.  History of Van
Zandt County and First Monday Trade Days provides a colorful
    backdrop to Ace’s narration.
JAKE'S BURN
Ace Edwards #1

The phone rings at three in the morning launching Arthur Conan
Edwards (Ace), Dallas PI, into an investigation that places him
and his cats, Sweeper and Striker, in the cross hairs of a killer.
Jake Adams, a childhood friend, hires Ace to uncover the arsonist
who torched Jake's house in Cisco, TX.  Ace returns to his home
town only to discover the adage 'you can't go home again' is
true.  Smoking remains, charred bodies, romance, and the antics
of Ace's cats are only the beginning of an exciting and fast-paced
    mystery.
THORNS ON ROSES

Tom Jeffries has good reasons not to trust the justice system.  It
failed his sister and could fail his best friend, who lost his
stepdaughter to a gang rape.  Tom launches a vendetta to find
and destroy the Thorns on Roses gang, proclaiming them not fit to
live.  As Tom methodically stalks the gang, eliminating them one
by one, the police make slow progress, closing the gap between
    them and Tom.
Further complications arise in the form of Abby Archer, a
lawyer assigned to "help" Tom.  She quickly becomes a nuisance
that will not go away.  But, in spite of their aggravation with one
another, proximity turns animosity into respect, then into . . .
